Fans of the beloved family comedy Are We There Yet? may soon be heading back on the road with Nick and Suzanne.

According to an exclusive report from Deadline, actors Ice Cube and Nia Long are expected to reunite for a third installment in the Are We There Yet? franchise, marking the return of the iconic characters nearly two decades after the original film debuted in theaters.

Released in 2005, Are We There Yet? followed Nick Persons, played by Ice Cube, as he attempted to win over Suzanne Kingston, portrayed by Nia Long, by transporting her two children from Portland to Vancouver. The cross-country journey quickly spiraled into a series of comedic mishaps, helping the film become a box office success and a favorite among family audiences.

The movie’s popularity led to the 2007 sequel, Are We Done Yet?, which shifted the story from the road to suburban family life as Nick and Suzanne navigated homeownership, marriage and parenting.

Now, 20 years after the original film’s release, Deadline reports that the pair will return for another chapter in the franchise. While plot details have not yet been released, the project is expected to revisit the lives of Nick and Suzanne as audiences reconnect with characters that helped define family comedy in the mid-2000s.

The announcement has already generated excitement across social media, where fans have expressed nostalgia for the franchise and anticipation for seeing the characters return to the big screen.

Additional casting information, production details and a release date have not yet been announced.
