LOS ANGELES (BAMM Network) — Rihanna fans may finally have reason to believe that new music is on the way.

During a recent appearance on BET's The Jason Lee Show, rapper A$AP Rocky revealed that the Grammy-winning singer is actively recording, offering one of the clearest public updates yet on Rihanna's long-awaited follow-up to her 2016 album

When asked about Rihanna's long-rumored ninth studio album, Rocky didn't hesitate.

"Yeah, I said it. Sorry, babe. Bro, she work. She cooking, bro. No funny s---. Damn, I'mma get in trouble for this," Rocky said, confirming that Rihanna is "in the studio right now."

The comments immediately fueled excitement among fans, who have spent nearly a decade waiting for Rihanna's next full-length album.

Since releasing Anti in 2016, Rihanna has largely stepped away from music to build her business empire, which includes Fenty Beauty and Savage X Fenty, while also expanding her acting career and starting a family with Rocky. She has released only a handful of songs during that span, including "Lift Me Up" from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever and *"Friend of Mine" from The Smurfs soundtrack.

Rocky's comments are the strongest indication yet that Rihanna's next album is actively in production.

When host Jason Lee suggested the couple record a joint album, Rocky quickly dismissed the idea.

"I would hate that," Rocky said, suggesting their musical styles are too different for a collaborative project.

The interview comes as Rocky continues promoting his latest album, Don't Be Dumb, while balancing life with Rihanna and their three children. During the conversation, he also spoke emotionally about the singer's support through some of the most difficult moments of his life.

"She really is a strong Black woman, and she held me down when I was at my lowest," Rocky said.

Although Rihanna has repeatedly told fans over the years that she has been working on new music, no release date or album title has been announced.

For now, Rocky's comments offer the clearest sign yet that one of pop music's most anticipated albums may finally be moving closer to reality.
